Our boundary-pushing producers understand the power of environment, experiential video, and interactivity to bring a viewer inside the news.

We're on the hunt for a virtual reality pioneer who is equal parts technologist, journalist, cinematographer - and all storyteller.

What does a Virtual Reality Producer do?
  • CNNVR is looking for a 360 field producer with an instinct for new formats, an appetite for experimentation, and fearless in the face of emerging technologies. Above all: the producer must have an uncompromising sense of stunning visuals and powerful, unforgettable stories.
  • The producer should have a working knowledge of professional grade 360 camera gear, video stitching tools, and fixed-frame digital video editing techniques. Expert technical skills in shooting 360 video with advanced rigs is preferred.
  • The producer will be responsible for executing stories from conception through completion and should have solid experience pitching, reporting, shooting, and editing video content.
  • The applicant should be ready to be dispatched anywhere in the world at a moment's notice, ready to execute as a one-man-band, or as teammate embedded within CNN's TV and digital newsgathering units. –

What do we need from you?
  • The ideal candidate must display strong editorial judgment and be capable of delivering solid scripts.
  • This candidate must have an obsession with quality, with a strong aesthetic eye and cinematic tendencies.
  • The applicant must be comfortable handling multiple projects and working in a fast paced, deadline driven environment.
  • This position is based in New York, but will require regular travel across the US and internationally.
  • Proficiency in Premiere and After Effects required; experience with Cinema 4D and AutoPano is a plus.
  • Ideal candidates will have 4+ years of experience in the field, shooting with DSLR cameras or similar
